A set of Lotto style games to practice maths skills
These games have been developed on two levels so that as children become more familiar with times tables/fraction/telling the time they can progress from one level to the next.
Level 1: Each player chooses their own lotto board. Mix up the cards or shuffle them and then place them face down in a pile. Take turns to draw a card from a pile. If the card is an exact match to the lotto board, place the card on the matching square. If not, return the card to the bottom of the pile. The first player to completely cover all of their lotto board wins.
Level 2: The game begins as above but the player may match a card to an equivalent times table/fraction/time on the board, as shown, or an exact match as in level 1.
Another way to play: For both levels, instead of having the cards in a pile, spread them out on the floor or a table face down. Players then take it in turn to pick up a card and either place it on their board if a match is made or return it to the same place it was picked up from. This is a great memory game!
NOTE to parents and teachers: With a 4x4 grid and 64 playing pieces, two players can share the same board.
